Star Wars Diorama Base (50mm) ~ Part II

Still waiting for my KM Han Solo to arrive, but I did manage to get the base painted last night and also am working on Chewie presently…just waiting on the green stuff to set first. The Stormtrooper helmet came from another one of the WotC miniatures…cut it off and drilled out the inside to make it look like just a helmet and not a decapitated head.

When I painted the lines on the decking of the base I used a strip of balsa wood as a guide…my hands don’t have the steadiness to do that freehand…or any decent looking freehand for that matter.

So here is where this one stands at the moment.

Now back to work on Inquisitor Lord Coteaz.

  1. Looking really good! Ive only got clone wars era minis at the moment and i’m really interested in getting some Galactic Empire Era ones. The basing looks great and will be a nice little duo when Han arrives. Keep up the good work and thanks for taking the time to check out my blog.

  2. Thanks Rob for the comment, you’re stuff is a real inspiration for me…you have some really impressive painting skills! 🙂

  3. You are too kind mate! I have Some Clone troopers on the painting table at the moment. Not the best sculpts but i’l see what i can do. Have you got any more Star Wars minis on the horizon?

  4. Yeah, that is the thing with these Star Wars minis…the sculpts are hit and miss. If you try to Google images of them so you don’t waste your money you even have a tough time finding a decent photo of them…hehe, makes it really hard to find a good one sometimes.

I have Zuckuss (1st edition), couple three wookiees, Qui-Gon Jinn, Saesee Tiin, and then the KM Solo and Obi-Wan to finish up. I have been toying with the idea of just creating an Ithorian Jedi for fun, but not sure which models to use and how to do it. I also have been looking at getting a Boba Fett and Darth Vader…but with the limited photos on the ‘net I am afraid to spend the cash without seeing a clean picture of the offerings of those two.
